Teen & Young Adult Obesity Medicine
California Telehealth

Expert Obesity Medicine for Teens & Young Adults in California
Physician-prescribed and monitored comprehensive obesity treatment, including GLP-1 medications when indicated, via telehealth with Dr. Natalie Muth, a board-certified pediatrician, obesity medicine specialist, registered dietitian & nationally-recognized obesity medicine and nutrition expert.
No waitlists. No insurance battles. Real results.
What families tell us:
-
"My teen's pediatrician said to eat healthier, but nothing changed."
-
"We've been on waitlists for a specialist for months."
-
"I've heard about GLP-1 medications for teens but have no idea where to start."
-
"My young adult aged out of pediatrics and no one seems equipped to help."
What's actually happening:
-
Traditional healthcare is built for acute illness not chronic disease management.
-
Obesity medicine requires time, frequency, and deep expertise most clinicians don't have.
-
GLP-1 medications for teens are FDA-approved and evidence-based, but most primary care doctors aren't prescribing or monitoring them.
-
Young adults fall through the gap between pediatric and adult medicine.
Your Teen Deserves More Than "Eat Less, Move More"
You've heard the advice. Your teen has tried. And yet here you are — still searching for a real answer. The reality is that obesity in adolescents and young adults is a complex, chronic medical condition with biological, hormonal, and environmental roots. It cannot be solved with willpower alone, and it won't be fully addressed in a 15-minute primary care visit.
GLP-1 Medications for Teens: The Question Every Family Is Asking
FDA-approved medications like semaglutide (Wegovy) represent a significant advance in adolescent obesity treatment. When prescribed appropriately and paired with lifestyle support, they can be transformative. But most families can't access them — because prescribing GLP-1s for teens requires specialist expertise that most primary care clinicians simply don't have.
What Dr. Muth provides that most practices don't:
✓ Expert evaluation of GLP-1 candidacy using current AAP and AACE guidelines
✓ Prescription and titration of FDA-approved medications (Wegovy, Qsymia, Zepbound (18+))
✓ Ongoing monitoring for efficacy, side effects, and metabolic changes
✓ Lab review and comorbidity management alongside medication
✓ The lifestyle framework that makes medications work — and stick — long term
Medications are one tool, not the whole answer. Dr. Muth's approach ensures your teen gets the right intervention — whether that's medication, intensive lifestyle work, or both — based on their individual biology, history, and goals.

How It Works
Our Direct Specialty Care model replaces the insurance-dictated visit with something built around what actually works for chronic disease management: time, access, and expert continuity.
Step 1. Review our membership plans and see which one is the right fit for you. Note that obesity medications will only be prescribed when appropriate and BMI is >95th percentile, and alongside intensive behavioral intervention.
Step 2. Sign up for an Initial Consultation with Dr. Muth and complete your intake forms in our secure HIPAA-compliant Healthie platform. You will be able to schedule an initial appointment online through our secure platform, with an initial visit within 2 weeks or less. You do not need to commit to a membership plan before the initial consultation.
Step 3. Your 60-minute initial visit with Dr. Muth. Comprehensive medical and nutrition history, lab review, medication evaluation, and a personalized care plan, which may include medication prescription if appropriate. For the best care, please have available previous records and growth measures from most recent physical exam with primary care clinician.
Step 4. Ongoing monthly or bi-monthly visits, direct messaging access, and lab monitoring — all calibrated to your teen's or young adult's progress.

A Note On Insurance
Dr. Natalie Muth PC is a cash-pay membership practice. We do not bill commercial insurance for our monthly membership fee. For families who have been fighting insurance denials, waiting months for specialist access, or getting generic advice that doesn't move the needle — this is a feature, not a limitation. No referrals needed. No prior authorization battles. No 6-month waitlist.
You will still need separate major medical insurance for labs (Quest/Labcorp), prescriptions, and specialist referrals.
* HSA/FSA funds are accepted for patients with BMI ≥ 95th percentile
